The Challenges

During this session, EU companies will provide pitches to two challenges, presented by VEC | City of Vancouver:

• Municipal Waste Reduction and Reuse:

The City of Vancouver is seeking innovative, functional and scalable solutions that will help eliminate the disposal of waste (solid and organic) to landfill and incinerators.

• Low Carbon Construction Materials and Equipment:

The City of Vancouver is seeking innovative ideas that address the lowcarbon construction requirements of the future, focusing on low embodied carbon construction materials for buildings and low emission equipment on construction sites. In Vancouver, embodied carbon from new building accounts for approximately 179,500 tonnes of carbon emissions every year.
